Compass Plus’ innovative universal mobile payments service, MobiCash, has scooped Best Mobile Payments Solutions award at the ninth annual Payments Awards. MobiCash received the accolade for its work with UK charities during an in-person awards ceremony which took place at Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square in London on Thursday 11th November.
The judges recognised MobiCash for its capability to offer more than just donation acceptance, instead enabling charities to adopt digital strategies around payments; reducing their reliance on cash-giving and maximising their fundraising potential by opening up new revenue streams.
MobiCash was commended for helping a number of charities in the UK with their digital donation strategies by creating a culture of support. Some of the initiatives that were highlighted included; increasing contributions with GiftAid with an extra 25p for every £1 collected; expanding collection capabilities by using QR codes to turn everything from websites, collection buckets, leaflets, posters, even PowerPoint presentations into donation points; offering in-app charity homepages with options for setting up regular donations and encouraging repeat-giving behaviour patterns; simplifying administration tasks by reducing the risks and costs associated with cash handling; and a host of additional value-added services.
Bethan Cowper, AVP Market Development & Business Analytics at Compass Plus, commented: “We are proud that MobiCash has received such a prestigious award against such deserving competition. The win is testament to the versatility of the service, and highlights how MobiCash can help charities thrive, even in uncertain times such as COVID-19. This was clearly demonstrated by how MobiCash has transformed the collection strategies of charities in the UK, turning one-off contributions into regular donations and accelerating fundraising initiatives, even in comparison to before the pandemic. This is a drop in the ocean of what MobiCash can do and we are excited to share MobiCash with the fundraising world.”
