MobiCash in numbers 2018
In 2018, MobiCash demonstrated an impressive ten-fold growth (compared to 2017). Major utility service providers, property management companies and educational institutions across Magnitogorsk, Russia, joined the system, which helped bring the total number of app users to 9,100 – 69% of which use the app as their preferred payment method.
Its functionality has also been extended: users are now able to pay taxes, fines and stamp duty through the app; payment reminder notifications can also be set up; and the status of a payment can be checked in one click.
The app includes a set of features specifically aimed at customer convenience too: a new built-in merchant map that helps navigate to the nearest merchant that accepts MobiCash payments, self-checkout service at petrol stations, and a ‘News and Tips’ section that is updated regularly.
MobiCash functionality updated to optimise usability
The MobiCash consumer app continues to be enhanced to ensure ease of use. The latest update to the app boasts a simplified process for card registration, the ability to use zoom functionality within app screens and the capability to disable auto-logout when the device screen is locked.
The latest updates to the app list above are just a sample of the changes made to improve usability, security and overall performance in the latest version.
Money management tools enhanced in MobiCash
The MobiCash app is more than just a mobile payments app, it also encourages responsible spending with in-app reporting tools. These tools enable users to create bespoke reports to gain complete visibility over their spending habits. With the announcement of the new receipt e-mail function, users can now send payment receipts to their personal e-mail to keep track of expenditures as another useful money management feature.
MobiCash attends Varlink MTM 2017
MobiCash was pleased to participate at the Varlink MTM 2017 event, which took place on 9 February at Whittlebury Hall in Northamptonshire, UK.
Meet the Manufacturer (MTM) allows businesses to keep ahead of the curve by hearing the latest industry trends, product roadmaps and upcoming technologies first-hand. This gives them the chance to assess and act upon imminent opportunities and/or challenges as early as possible. MTM also provides a space for networking between forward-thinking businesses and a chance to see the latest products from some of the most innovative companies around.
Paul Love, Principle Product Manager for MobiCash, said: “It was good to meet so many attendees who are at the front-line of retail and to see first-hand some of the latest developments in POS devices. It is clear that mobile technology has a big role to play both in payments and enabling much more flexible and mobile point of sale devices.”
MobiCash representatives took the opportunity to showcase the mobile payment application to resellers, suppliers and innovators from across a wide variety of technologies including EPoS hardware and software and mobile computing.
MobiCash sponsors Retail PayTech Forum
MobiCash is proud to announce its support for the Retail PayTech Forum, held at the Andaz Hotel, London, on the 29th September
Facilitated by the Emerging Payments Association (EPA), the Retail PayTech Forum is born out of insight from retailers of all shapes and sizes across a variety of sectors to address a range of payments challenges. These challenges are often common amongst retailers, which agree that cross-industry collaboration would be a far more effective approach to solutions.
The EPA will use the Forum to educate retailers on new technologies, regulations and products, as well as providing a platform for knowledge sharing.
MobiCash is a Support Sponsor of the Forum’s launch event, which will see retailers gather for workshops based around their PayTech projects, insights from high-profile industry speakers, and a dinner.
